Mrs. Louise Tucker Spradley, 82, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 11, 2021 at 2:00 P.M. in chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Tim Harsey officiating. A eulogy will be given by Mr. Ronnie Tucker. Entombment will follow at Tift Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Bobby Cooper, Dave Gurley, Bill Dennison, Jamie Helton, Comer Sellers and Terrance Womack will service as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and her friends from theTift County Sheriff’s Department.
Mrs. Spradley was born April 8, 1939 in Zolfo Springs, Florida to the late Matthew Lee Tucker and Mary Lizzie Potts Tucker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and her former husband, Dan Spradley to whom she was married for forty-seven years at his death. Mrs. Spradley was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church. She had lived most of her life in Tift County. In her earlier life she was a sergeant for the Tift County Sheriff’s Department for fifteen years. Earlier she studied cosmetology and was a practicing beautician. She was later the manager for Davis Brothers Restaurant and Motel. Mrs. Louise spent many years working with her former husband, Dan Spradley at Spradley’s Carpet Mart. Mrs. Spradley was a member of the Tifton Elk’s Lodge. Louise was a giving person and helped many people find help in their lives. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and was a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews. Louise was an outdoor person who loved to fish and hunt. She was a lady of faith and was very active in her church where she sang in the choir.
Mrs. Spradley is survived by her husband, Perry Jim Horton of Tifton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Mike Rentz of Lenox and Danette and Carlos Dean of Enigma; five grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters and brother-in-law, Margaret Royal of Bainbridge and Jo Ellen and Carl Shannon of Lakeland; two brothers B. H. Tucker of Melbourne, Fla., and George Howard and Sophear Tucker of Alabama.
