Margaret (Pate) Day

Mrs. Margaret Pate Day, 79, of Tifton passed away on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Pruitt Health Center in Moultrie.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 21st at 2:00 p.m. in Chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Terrell Roberts officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 21st from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. before the service at the funeral home.

Ryan Sherling, Ricky Sherling, Cory Hand, Bryan Day, Chris Pflueger and Brent Day will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Day was born June 29, 1939 in Turner County to the late Henry Nelson Pate and Mary Jo Hancock Pate. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George William Day who died April 23, 2015, her sister Betty Lou Mercer and her brother Joe Pate. Mrs. Day was a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church and retired from Tift County Board of Education Nutrition Department. She was very active in her church. She never judged anyone and would always help everyone and she had a heart of gold. She loved to travel to Disney World and to the beach. Mrs. Day loved her children and loved to cook.

Mrs. Day is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Ricky Sherling of Moultrie; her son, Glen Alan Day of Tifton; three granddaughters, Lori Sherling, Mahala McDaniel and Ashley Hand; two grandsons, Richard Day and Ryan Sherling; her brother Tommy Pate.
