Marie Ellis (Hayes) Ayscue

Mrs. Marie Ellis Hayes Ayscue, 92 of Tifton died March 6, 2018 at her residence after an eleven-year courageous battle with Alzhiemer’s disease.

Graveside services will be held at Oakridge Cemetery on the Ayscue family plot at 3:00 P.M. Friday, March 9th.   with Rev. John Gibbs, Jr., officiating.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m.  until 2:30 p.m. at the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors before the graveside service.

Pallbearers will be Ray Miller, Chris Miller, Mark Pless, Tommy Ray, Gerald Jordan and Tim Jordan,

Mrs. Ayscue was born August 21, 1925, in Kittrell, North Carolina to Robert Ellis Hayes and Lois Johnson Hayes both deceased.  She graduated from Epsom High School in Franklin County, North Carolina.  She was a resident of Tifton for the past fifty-two years and was the widow of the late George D. Ayscue, to whom she was married for sixty- three years and was also preceded in death by her brother, Alvin Hayes of Durham, NC.  Mrs. Ayscue was a homemaker and a member of First United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the Beacon Sunday School Class and the Club 55. Mrs. Ayscue was well known for her gracious entertaining, bridge circles, and her work for the American Heart Association.  She was also a member of the Tifton Regional Medical Auxiliary as a Pink Lady.  She had many wonderful friends throughout her life and she will be greatly missed.

Mrs. Ayscue is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Richard Gerald (Gerry) Ayscue and Susan Jordan Ayscue of Tifton, her grandchildren Walt and Jordan Archer of Acworth, Allison Archer of Jacksonville, FL. and Blake Ayscue of Tifton, great grandchildren Collin Archer and Landon Archer both of Acworth.  Her grandchildren affectionately named her “MaMarie.”
