Mary Clayton Gentry

Mary Clayton Gentry passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Southwell Health and Rehab in Adel, Georgia. She was born on September 4, 1941 in Grady Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.

She will be laid to rest by her mother, with a graveside funeral service on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Rodney Brown officiating at Oak Ridge Cemetery.  The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside at Oak Ridge.

Ms. Mary was a happy lady who loved to laugh, fish, cook, clean her house and be a homemaker. She loved living a simple life.

Mary will be remembered with love by her family and all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Gidget Williams (Delbert); her brother, Larry Turner; and her sister, Frances Stilwell. She also leaves behind her grandsons, Danny Smith and Brent Timms, (Rebecca), and her great-grandchildren, Kylee Smith and Brayden Timms.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Clayton; her mother, Sarah White Turner; her daughter, Leisa Ann Gentry; and her sister, Linda Thompson.

Mary’s life is honored in the hearts of those who survive her. The family would like to thank the staff at Southwell Health and Rehab for the kindness and loving care given to Ms. Mary.
