Mary "Suzanne" Wade

Mary Suzanne Wade, 67, of Rochelle, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 5, 2022 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with The Rev. Leeann Culbreath officiating.  Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 12:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Suzanne was born September 3, 1955 in Tifton, GA. She was the daughter of Elba W. and Perry Sue Wade. She graduated from Tift County High School and received her B.S. degree from Charleston Southern University in North Charleston, SC. Suzanne taught school in South Carolina for many years. She had overcome many physical and emotional obstacles to obtain her college degree. She shared this compassion and tenacity with her students thereby making a lasting difference in many of their lives. She simply would not let them quit!

When ill health forced her retirement, she chose to return to South Georgia. She moved to Rochelle to be near her cousins Jena and Tommy Rossman. The Rossman’s have faithfully looked after her ever since.

Suzanne was known as a dog lover and until the last year of her life, always had one or more who enjoyed the very best of life with her. In addition, she was an avid fan of the Braves and UGA football - both of whom gratified her greatly last year!

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her aunts and uncles, Wilda and Forrest Jordan and Aytch and Louise Wade.

She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Lisa Wade of Irmo, SC, niece Suzi Wade, nephews Charlie Wade and Michael Wade, Aunt Charlotte Martin, cousins Jena and Tommy Rossman and other cousins.
