Megan (Ivey) King

Atlanta – Megan Ivey King, 33 of Scottdale, formerly of Tifton died February 9, 2017 at Atlanta Medical Center.

Funeral services will be held at Albritton Funeral Directors on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. with Dr. Fred Evers and Jason Dixon officiating.   Interment will follow at Oakridge cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday evening February 12, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.

Jeremy Jones, Justin Griffin, Steve Griffin, Augusta Crowe, Tate Anderson and Kevin Smith will serve as pallbearers.

Megan was born on September 29, 1983 in Tift County to Jimmy Ivey and Paula Newsom Ivey, both of Tifton.  Megan was a caring and giving person who truly loved all of her family but her number one priority was her three children.  She was a 2002 Tift County High School graduate who loved all kinds of music.   While attending TCHS, she played softball and soccer then went on to graduate from Georgia Perimeter College.  She was employed at Dove Dental Specialists in Atlanta.

Along with her parents, Megan is survived by her husband Gerun B. King of Scottdale, daughter Dayvia Sybil King of Scottdale, two sons Maddox Elijah Henderson and Paxton Eli Henderson both of Scottdale, brother Jamie Ivey of Tifton, paternal grandmother, Margie Ivey of Tifton, maternal grandfather Henry Newsom of Alapaha, two nieces and two nephews.  She was preceded in death by her grandfather James H. Ivey and grandmother Betty Newsom and her special aunt Carol Griffin.
