Michael "Mike" Elliott Rentz

 Mr. Michael “Mike” Elliott Rentz, 70, of Lenox, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

 A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Lenox Cemetery with Rev. Tim Harsey officiating. Eulogy will be given by Stacy Chapman and Derek Shaw. The family will receive friends from 9:00 to 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Albritton Funeral Directors.

 Jace Chapman, Britton Shaw, Brady Chapman, Tate Shaw and Josh Lindsey will serve as pallbearers.

 Mike was born October 26, 1952 in Cook County to the late Russell “PeeWee” Rentz and Jacqueline Patricia Crumpton Rentz. He was a member of Tift Avenue Missionary Baptist Church and was a 1970 graduate of Cook County High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mike was retired from Tifton Aluminum as supervisor after twenty-three years. He later worked for Elixer Aluminum, AM Blanching Company and was self-employed sub-contractor for floor covering. He loved watching football, riding country dirt roads and listening to music. Mike was a great story teller who loved making people laugh. He was a “Big” family person and especially loved his family and his grandchildren.

 Mike is survived by his wife, Patricia Spradley Rentz of Lenox; his daughter and son-in-law, Stacy and Nathan Chapman of Kingston Springs, TN., and his son and daughter-in-law, Derek and Meredith Shaw of Baldwin, Ga.; his grandchildren, Jace Chapman, Brady Mac Chapman, Tate Shaw, Britton Shaw, Ellison Shaw and Ruby Shaw; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Tim and Vickie Rentz of Lenox, Scott and Tiffany Rentz of Huntsville, AL., Trey and Andrea Rentz of Lenox and his sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Terry Zeigler of Lenox.
