Mildred Whitley (Griffis) Gregory

Mrs. Mildred Whitley Gregory, 93, of Tifton, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Harborview Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Stacy Phillips and Mr. David Moore officiating. A private family interment will be held. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 A.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Mrs. Gregory was born April 30, 1929 in Omega, Georgia to the late Lester Griffis and Lillian Cox Griffis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Gregory and her first husband, J. W. Whitley, her brother Flavis Griffis (Tate), her sons-in-law, Earl Jackson and Eddie Hayes. Mrs. Gregory was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Tifton and was retired from Tift Regional Medical Center. She was a hard worker, loved to crochet afghans and give them as gifts. Mrs. Gregory loved her family, especially the grandbabies.

Mrs. Gregory is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Melba and J. C. McKinney of West Berrien Community, Connie Hayes of Thomasville and Dana Alaine Jackson of Brookfield; her grandchildren, LaRae and David Moore, Melanie and Kevin Skeath, Brian and Rebecca McKinney, Casey and Clay Darley, Melissa and Tom Laughon, James (Emily )Jackson and Whitley (Anthony) Jackson; thirteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren; her sister, Mary Jo Kelly of Moultrie and her two sisters-in-law, Billie Ruth Griffis of Adel and Lucille Delk of Tifton.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Tift Area, Harborview Nursing Home and Legacy Village for their special care.
