Mr. Paul Robert Boyd, 91, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 15, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. at St. Anne Episcopal Church with Father Lonnie Lacy officiating. Interment will follow in the memorial gardens at St. Anne Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 P.M. at the church before the service.
Mr. Boyd was born October 8, 1929 in Atlanta to the late Paul Branson Boyd and Sylvia Evans Boyd. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Janette Thompson Boyd who died September 2, 2014, his daughter-in-law, Patricia Walker Boyd who died in 2016. Mr. Boyd was a member of St. Anne Episcopal Church of Tifton and was retired from Georgia Power Company. He had lived in Tifton since the mid nineteen sixties. Paul received his Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Georgia Tech and following his education, he began his long career with Georgia Power where he designed electrical systems. Paul was a man of family values and took care of his mother here in Tifton for many years. His sons and grandchildren were the center of his life. Paul enjoyed his church and loved to attend men’s meetings. He was early to study and understand computers and was always diligent about learning new things. Mr. Boyd was a member of the Tifton Lion’s Club and Elk’s Club. He loved to travel with his family especially to the beach and working in his yard.
Mr. Boyd is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John Paul Boyd, Sr. and Lisa of Tifton and Marc Scott and Liz Boyd of Sylvester; four grandchildren, John Paul Boyd, Jr., Rachel Anne Boyd, Analise Walsh and Anthony Walsh.
