Mrs. Phyllis Anita Putty Presley, 73 of Tifton passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Tifton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
A memorial service will be held on at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 22, 2021, at Albritton Funeral Directors with Pastor Kelvin Naef and Pastor Carl Nelson officiating.
Phyllis was born in Lubbock, Texas on January 18, 1948 as the third child and daughter of her farming parents the late Charlie and Marie Estelle Hansford Putty of west Texas. According to her sister Theresa, she was their blond, slightly roly-poly, fun little sister. The Putty family moved to the Bakersfield, CA area in 1957 and later to Los Angeles. They had a piano in their home and Phyllis loved learning to play. She attended Cal State Long Beach University and attained a Bachelor’s degree in music. After returning home, she made a decision to serve God in his ministry. She served in God’s work for seven years in California and Mexico, but was unable to continue. While living with an aunt in Texarkana, TX, she met Johnny Presley, who would become a very loving, stable, and faithful husband.
She is survived by her two sisters and brothers-in-law Charlcie and Larry Thomas of Indianapolis, IN,, and Theresa and Tom Bond of San Marcos, CA, along with six nieces who are scattered over the United States and other places.
