Rev. Joe Dennie Wiggins

Rev. Joe Dennie Wiggins, 90, went to meet his Saviour on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 24th at 2:00 p.m. in Albritton Funeral Directors Chapel with Brother Chris Casselman and Brother C. A. Hulett officiating. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Saturday evening, June 23rd  from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Charles Wade Wiggins, Dennis Wiggins, Kerry Wiggins, Jody Wiggins, Michael Wiggins and Larry Delaney.

Rev. Wiggins was born May 2, 1928 in Emanuel County to the late Early Green Wiggins and Judy Elaine Scott Wiggins. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons Meredith Wayne, Gary Howard and Charles Thomas Wiggins; two daughters-in-law, Diane Wiggins and Anne Wiggins, grand-daughter Mellis Lynn Wiggins and twelve siblings. Rev. Wiggins was married to the love of his life, Emma Lou Powell Wiggins. Rev. Wiggins was a minister for Unity Tabernacle Holiness Church in Tifton for thirty years. Rev. Wiggins graced us with powerful sermons for over fifty years. He worked at Millers Garage as a mechanic and also retired as a technician from Queen Carpet. He had lived in Tifton since 1968. He started preaching in 1968 and dedicated his heart and his life to his Lord Jesus Christ. He loved to play the guitar, sing gospel music, hunt, fish and being a mechanic. Rev. Wiggins had a radio ministry for many years on WTIF, Tifton.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by six sons and their spouses, Ronnie Joe and Martha Wiggins of Pembroke, Hugh Dennie and Hazel Wiggins of Rincon, George Timothy Wiggins and Linda of Tifton, David and Wanda Wiggins of Tifton, Tony Green Wiggins of Milledgeville and Jerry Powell Wiggins of Tifton; two daughters-in-law Jean Wiggins of Millen and Helen Wiggins of Tifton; twenty grandchildren; forty-six great grandchildren and thirteen great great grandchildren.

Flowers accepted or donations may be made to charity of one’s choice.
