Ricky Lamar Barnes

Ricky Lamar Barnes,55, born on September 20, 1969, in Tifton, Georgia, passed away on September 16, 2025, at Tift Regional Medical Center, leaving a legacy of kindness and dedication.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, September 19, 2025 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Keith Norris officiating. Interment will follow at Turner Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 18, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Brandon Barnes, Jordan Taylor, Chip Powell, Frankie Webb, Anthony Aultman and Jamie Williams will serve as pallbearers.

A graduate of Berrien County High School, Ricky spent his career as the maintenance manager for VLS Environmental Solutions, where his strong work ethic and leadership were well recognized. His commitment to his job was matched only by his deep compassion for others; he was known for being the first to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Ricky found joy in many pastimes, including hunting and grilling, where he often gathered with family and friends. He took great pride in his collection of Milwaukee Tools, which was a testament to his passion for workmanship. Weekends spent at Jo Jo's with his brothers and cousins were cherished moments in his life, reinforcing the strong bonds of family and friendship that he valued deeply.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Giddens Barnes; his son, Drew Giddens; his brothers, Raymond Barnes, Rayford Barnes (Gina), and Matt Barnes (Jessica); as well as special cousins, Buddy Dowdy and Mike Barnes, along with many nephews, nieces, and extended family members who will remember him fondly.

Ricky is predeceased by his father, Earl "Earkie" Barnes; his mother, Mary "Tweety" Lupo Barnes; and his brothers, Roy Barnes and Randall "Big R" Barnes.

Ricky Lamar Barnes will be remembered not only for his many talents and passions but also for his unwavering love and care for those around him. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
