Robert Alvin Laramore, Sr.

August 27, 1930 — March 18, 2017

Tifton - Mr. Robert Alvin Laramore, Sr., 86, of Tifton passed away at Tifton Rehabilitation Center, Saturday, March 18, 2017.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 in the Chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Fred Evers officiating. Interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens. The visitation will be Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at Albritton Funeral Directors from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.

Tyler Rice, Caleb Rice, Austin Marchant, Buddy Jordan, Kolby Jordan, Andy Thompson and Robert Register will serve as pall bearers.

Mr. Laramore was born on August 27, 1930 in Lee County in the community of Smithville to Charlie and Leila Tissue Laramore, both whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his daughter Sue Laramore who died in 1998, three brothers, and two sisters.

Mr. Laramore graduated in 1947 from The Smithville High School then he went into the United States Army.  He was married to the love of his life for fifty eight years, Eleanor Thompson Laramore who died April 1, 2015.  Mr. Laramore was a member of Northside Baptist Church,  a past member of the Masons, and the Shriners where he participated on the scooter unit.  Mr. Laramore was a retired power line contractor and he built power lines all over the United States.  He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves, UGA Bulldogs and Atlanta Falcons. He was excellent at sports trivia and he loved fishing with his wife and family.  A lot of people will remember him selling produce to the public especially during the onion season.

Survivors include his two daughters and sons-in-law, Debrah and Kyle Brooks, Lisa and Josh Jordan all of Tifton and one son and daughter-in-law Robert A. Laramore, Jr. "Bobby" and Brenda of Edgewater, Florida, grandchildren, Trey Laramore, Mia Laramore, Jessie Brooks Marchant and Austin, Tyler Rice, Caleb Rice, Autumn Rice, Tori Jordan, Buddy Jordan and Kolby Jordan, great grandchildren Mila Laramore-Nunez and Hayden Jordan and one sister Nancy Spanfelner of Albany.
