Roger Paul Sutton, born on May 16, 1957, Tifton, Georgia passed away peacefully at his residence on June 17, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, whose life was defined by his unwavering dedication to family and community.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Albritton Funeral Directors with Dr. Jeff Pangle and Rev. Charles Sutton officiating and a eulogy given by his son, Roger Sutton, Jr. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Fitzgerald, Georgia. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. before the service at the funeral home.
James Miley, Adam Wilson, Sean Williams, Keith Dees, Bill Grantham and Shae Bullard will serve as pallbearers.
Roger had a commendable career, serving for twenty years in maintenance at Fitzgerald Underwear, followed by two decades as the maintenance supervisor for the Tift County Sheriff's Department. His strong work ethic and commitment to service were hallmarks of his professional life. Alongside his career, he also served honorably in the Georgia Army National Guard for sixteen years, demonstrating his sense of duty and dedication to his country.
Roger held a lifelong connection to his hometown. He was known for his passions outside of work, including deer hunting, fishing, and enjoying the great outdoors. Roger was also an avid supporter of Georgia Bulldogs football, the Atlanta Braves, and NASCAR racing. His love for these activities provided him joy and an avenue to share memorable moments with family and friends alike.
Roger was a devoted family man, deeply loved by his wife of forty years, Debbie Ann Hart Sutton. He is survived by his cherished children, Roger, Jr. and Renae Sutton, Michael and Jaye Spradley, Amanda and Sean Williams, Mandy Sutton, and Megan and Chris Blanchard. His legacy continues through his beloved grandchildren: Amber Singletary, Joel Day, Amya Miller, Krysta Cotham and Matthew Kennedy, Jr., Kara Day and Kody James, Sophia Sutton, Leigha Blanchard, Caden Blanchard, Jaci Hawkins, Drew Hawkins and Maggie Muley, Faith Williams, Riley Spradley, Tailor Williams and Daniel Frias, and Jacoby and Kimberly Williams, and fifteen great grandchildren, along with his brother, Charles Timothy Sutton, and his sister-in-law, Sue Sutton of Tifton. He was predeceased by his father, Paul Dinsmore Sutton, his mother, Elsie Lizelle Hart Sutton, and his great grandchild.
In his faith journey, Roger attended Living Waters Ministry, where he found a community that cherished him as much as he cherished them. His love for his children and dog, Gurley Girl provided him with countless memories that will forever be celebrated by family and friends alike.
Roger Paul Sutton will be remembered as a gentle soul who valued family, community, and the outdoors. His spirit lives on through those he touched with his kindness and love.
