Ronald Joseph Drummonds, 64, of Tifton, died Friday, December 30, 2016 at his residence.

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 02, 2017 from 6-8 PM at Albritton Funeral Directors. A private family funeral will be held at a later date.

Mr. Drummonds was born on October 09, 1952 in Pell City, Alabama to Sarah Howard Drummonds of Pell City, Alabama and the late Bill Drummonds. He graduated high school from Butler High School in Huntsville, Ala. where he was an all state football and baseball player. He later graduated from Jacksonville State College, Jacksonville, Alabama, where he played football and received his Bachelor’s Degree in history. He earned his Master’s degree in Administration at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, and his E. ED at University of Southern Mississippi.  He always knew he wanted to be a football coach. He was a member of Georgia Football Hall of Fame and during his coaching career won a state championship.

Mr. Drummonds lived in Tifton for many years and was a member of First Baptist Church of Tifton. He was a former Headmaster and presently the high school principal at Tiftarea Academy. He loved his wife, his family, and especially his grandchildren. Mr. Drummonds enjoyed working in his yards, being on the lake, and snow skiing.

His survivors are his wife, Deborah Keil Drummonds, to whom he had been married for 42 years, his two daughters and one son-in-law, Kari and Kelley Collins of Tifton and Lauren Drummonds of Tifton; his son, Bradley Drummonds of Tifton; one brother and sister-in-law, Jeff and Cindy Drummonds of Gardendale, Ala.; and three grandchildren, Sean Collins and Ches and Coleman Mangham.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Tiftarea Academy c/o Kari Collins Fund, P.O. Box 10 Chula, Georgia 31733
