Mrs. Ruth “Honey” Hester Busbin, 96, of the Waterloo Community, died Sunday, June 30, 2019, at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Waterloo Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Pangle officiating. Interment will follow in Waterloo Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 2, 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Mrs. Busbin was born on June 25, 1923, in Tift County to the late James Gordon Hester and Hattie Martin Hester. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of seventy-four years; Franklin Busbin, her sons; A. D. Busbin and Frederick Busbin, her grand- daughter; Ros Anne Willis, her sister Lucy Karasik, and her daughter-in-law; Lynn Busbin; her brother-in-law Warren Eidson. Mrs. Busbin was a homemaker who also owned her own catering and seamstress business. She worked at Normans for many years. She loved her Waterloo community and she was a longtime member of the Waterloo Homemakers Club. She was known all over the South Georgia area for her exceptional cakes.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Lee and Kim Busbin, Jill and Jeff Davis, daughter-in-law; Brenda Busbin, brothers; Fred Hester and his wife, Betty Joyce, Sydney Hester and his wife Charlotte and her sister; Frances Eidson, four great grandchildren and two great- great grandchildren.
