Samuel Tyler Russell

February 15, 1988 — June 21, 2017

Samuel Tyler Russell, 29, of Ray City passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Clinch Memorial Hospital in Homerville.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 3pm in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Mike Hobbs and Rev. Mark Holloway officiating. A private interment will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1-2:30 pm before the service.

Mr. Russell was born in Tift County on February 15, 1988 to Dan and Teresa Dillard Russell of Tifton. He graduated from Tift County High School in 2006 and served in the U.S. Air Force and was currently serving in the Air National Guard. After high school, Mr. Russell attended Valdosta State College and Wiregrass Technical College. He was married to Brooke Brennecka Russell of Ray City. He loved computers, playing computer games and also creating and writing the computer games. Mr. Russell was a family person and loved his wife and son dearly. He and his wife, Brooke are expecting a baby that is due December.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Russell is survived by his son, Carter Matthew Russell of Ray City, one brother and sister-in-law, Andy and Angela Russell of Valdosta, his maternal grandparents, Willie and Annie Dillard of Tifton, one niece and nephew, Adrianna and Grayson Russell, one sister-in-law, Haylee Goodsman of Fulton, IL and one brother-in-law, Anthony Gulatto of Fulton, IL.

Mr. Russell was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, W.A. and Bebe Russell.

In lieu of flowers, the family asked that donations be made to St. Jude’s Tribute Program, P.O. Box 1000 Dept. 142 Memphis TN 38148-0142.
