Sarah (Mullis) Bennett

Mrs. Sarah Athleen Mullis Bennett, 79, of Tifton, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 11:00A.M. February 2, 2021 in Sunset Hill Cemetery, 1100 North Oak St, Valdosta GA with Rev. Glenn Ford officiating. The family will receive friends and family on Monday evening at the Albritton Funeral Directors from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Ricky Williams, Jamie Hester, Justin Hilton, Deserae Estes, Jay Sinyard and Charles Kiselica will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Bennett was born January 3, 1942, in Coffee County to the late Jule Mullis and Nancy Elizabeth Watson Mullis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lamar Bennett; son, Edward Carter; daughter, Stephanie Sanders; her sisters; Mary Kathleen Robarge, Carolyn O’Daniel, Betty Bennett and her two brothers; Earl Mullis and Albert Dean Mullis.

Mrs. Bennett had lived in Tifton since 1990 and she was retired as the Director of the Tift County Soup Kitchen where she had served for many years.  She loved her family and she was especially a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother.  She enjoyed doing sudoku puzzles, crocheting and other crafts.

She is survived by her son Michael Lynn Carter of Valdosta, her two daughters, Nancy Davis of Tifton, and Pamela Bennett of Tifton, her sister and brother-in-law Dorothy  and Clyde Herring of South Carolina, her brothers and sisters-in-law James ”Bo” and Sheila Mullis of Virginia, and Bobby and Aline Mullis of Valdosta,  fourteen grandchildren, and many great grandchildren.
