Sharon Anita Murray Mihalek, a cherished member of the Tifton community, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at Savannah Memorial Hospital. Born on September 14, 1950, in Savannah, Georgia, Sharon was a shining light in the lives of those who knew her. She dedicated herself to her family, her career, and her many passions with a deep love that resonated with everyone around her.
Sharon's professional journey began after she graduated from Savannah High School in 1969, followed by her short time at ABAC. For fourteen years, she made her mark in the banking industry, working at CB&T and BB&T in Tifton. She then took on a new challenge as a business manager for Fastec, where she spent sixteen years. Each endeavor reflected her work ethic and her commitment to excellence, earning her the respect and admiration of her colleagues.
Beyond her career, Sharon was best known for her devotion as a grandmother. She found boundless joy in her grandchildren, nurturing them with love and guidance. Her personality was warm and inviting; she had a special gift for making those around her feel loved and supported. Friends and family alike celebrated her talent for cooking and her passion for tending to her flower beds, pursuits that brought her immense happiness and satisfaction.
Sharon is survived by her son, John Daniel Mihalek; her daughter, Leslie Mihalek, and her fiancé, Scott Scheiring; her son, Barry Frost; her sister, Nancy Copeland, and her husband, Don; her special niece, Tiffany Emsweller, and her husband, Patrick; her grandchildren, Sarah Emily Weaver and her husband, Michael; Cassie Ragan Wilson; John Austin Williams; Conner Frost; Cohen Frost; and Audrey Scheiring as well as her only great-grandchild, Ramsie Marie Weaver. She also leaves behind several great-nieces and nephews who will carry her memory in their hearts.
The family will hold a visitation on November 2, 2025, from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM at Albritton Funeral Directors, followed by a funeral service starting at 2:00 PM. with Michael Weaver officiating. Sharon will find her final resting place at Tift Memorial Gardens.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of forty six years, John Joseph Milhalek who died on January 9, 2020, her father, Marion W. Murray; her mother, Mildred A. Latham Murray; her brothers, Marion W. Murray, Jr. "Butch" and Thomas E. Murray; as well as her nephew, Illya Copeland.
Sharon Murray Mihalek will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered for her unyielding love, her nurturing spirit, and her vibrant presence in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
