Mr. Terry Lynn Story, 60, of Tifton passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022 at Augusta University Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 28, 2022 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Mr. Harold Chambers officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 2:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service. Covid precautions will be observed.
Devin Story, Blayke Story, Gary Story, Matthew Green, Clint Johnson and John Paulk will serve as pallbearers. Doug Lentz will serve as honorary pallbearer.
Mr. Story was born November 26, 1961 in Quitman, Georgia to Fred and Marilyn Story of Ashburn. Mr. Story was employed with Coastal Plains Regional Educational Service Agency and was a member of Ridge Avenue Church of Christ. He was an avid lover of classic cars and trucks throughout his life. He also loved wetting a hook in a fishing hole. Terry took his last breath on January 24, 2022 while in the hospital in Augusta, Georgia while being treated for cancer. Complications arose and ultimately became a battle he could not win. With his wife by his side and his son Devin viewing virtually Terry passed away peacefully. He was proud of his twenty-two plus year career at Coastal Plains RESA.
Mr. Story is survived by his wife of twenty years, Sonya Easom Story of Tifton; his daughter and son-in-law, Jensen and Matthew Green of Quitman; his two sons and daughter-in-law, Devin and Brittany Story of Augusta and Blayke Story of Tifton; seven grandchildren, Alli Green, Aiden Green, Kaylee Bennefield, Lauren Smith, Hannah Smith, Ava Kate Green and Nolan Story; his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Doug Lentz of Albany and his brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Robin Story of Blairsville. His mother-in-law, Jo Anne Hogan of Tifton and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Vicki and Clint Johnson of Lithia Springs, Georgia. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews that he loved as well.
