In our most loving memory of Thomas Leslie Scruggs who went to be with our Lord on February 25th, 2022.
Thomas was born March 30th, 1938 in Tullahoma TN. He is now in heaven with is beloved wife, Debra-Dew Scruggs. He is survived by his nine children, Noel (Jennifer)Unruh, Margaux (Matthew)Moschera, Adrian Scruggs, Marthe-Bette (Joseph)Crocco, Debra-Drew (Brian)Burgess, Adrianna (Edwin)Moore, Angelia (Paul)Elcan, Alexius Scruggs, Markian Scruggs, and 16 grandchildren.
Thomas lived an extraordinary life, filled with travels and adventures that were made possible to him through his dedicated time spent in the United States Airforce. One of many exceptional achievements, he was most proud of was achieving Colonel – USAF.
Thomas enjoyed flying his privately owned Maule airplane that he purchased with his wife Debra. Debra's passion for flying grew when Thomas taught her to fly and helped her obtain her pilots license. She often spoke of the freedom she received when Thomas encouraged her to fly. Even as a young child he would lay beneath an Ash tree in TN, and watch the planes fly over and dream of the day that it would be him.
He always told his children "The only limits are those that you impose upon yourself and  Dream, Believe, and take action" -Thomas Scruggs.  If he could dream it, he would do it.
He was a proud conservative, southerner, who loved and fought for his country. He will truly be missed by many (children, friends, relatives, and his cat Tom-Tom.) He was a man many of his children's close friends looked up to as a father figure, or someone to give comfort in times of despair. His sense of humor was unmatched as was his kind words.
The family would also love to give a special thanks to the nurses and doctors who cared so dearly for our father in his time of illness especially Rachel Ferguson Chase, Malloree, Shelby McCartney, Morgan Kruse and Dr. Syed.
A memorial service for Thomas Scruggs will be on March 1st, 2022 at 12:00 p.m. Location – Taylor and Modeen Funeral Home. 250 Center Street, Jupiter, FL 33458. Visitation is from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. before the service.

Mr. Scruggs will be laid to rest at Eureka Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwin County, Chula, Georgia. on Friday March 4, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. Albritton Funeral Directors will be in charge of the interment.
