Thomas "Tom" Allen Fletcher, born on February 19, 1964, in Warner Robins, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence in Tifton, Georgia, on July 24, 2025.
He was a beloved figure in his community and a devoted family man whose legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Tom served as the superintendent of Tifton Turf, where he made significant contributions to the field and earned the respect of his colleagues and peers. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication, reflecting a commitment not only to his profession but also to the quality of life in the community he cherished.
An outdoorsman at heart, Tom found joy in hunting, fishing, and spending time watching his son grow into a caring young man. He was kind and loving to anyone he met, not matter who they were, and if you could get him start talking, he would truly make you feel like family. He held a special love for the pond and the outdoors, often seeking solace and adventure within nature. His passion for these activities was a testament to his appreciation of the simpler pleasures in life.
Tom attended ABAC in 1980, where he laid the foundation for his successful career. He carried the values instilled during his studies into his professional life, proving to be both knowledgeable and responsible in his duties.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Makayla Fletcher; his sister, Donna Schaffner; and his nephews, Nathanial Schaffner and Zachary Schaffner. He was also survived by his best friend, Randy Lindsey.
Their memories of Tom will be forever cherished, carrying forth the love and guidance he offered throughout their lives.
Tom was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Elbert Fletcher, and his mother, Sandra Burns Fletcher. Their presence and influence shaped the man he became, leaving an indelible mark on his character.
