Valerie Anne Sklany
Goodman
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Valerie Anne Sklany Goodman, 58, who departed this life too soon, but peacefully on April 21, 2026, at her home in the Waterloo Community. Born on July 8, 1967, in Tift County, Valerie lived a life marked by warmth, dedication, and enduring love.
A graveside funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 25, 2026 in Tift Memorial Gardens with Mr. Bill Dennison officiating. The family will receive friends before the service at the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors from 12:30 – 1:30 P.M.
Her cousins will serve as pallbearers.
A proud 1985 graduate of Tift County High School, Valerie’s roots were firmly planted in the Georgia soil, where she cultivated a life rich in personal triumphs and family devotion. Her entrepreneurial spirit blossomed early, leading her to establish her own company, Universal Painting, as a self-employed painter in June 2000. Through her artistry and steadfast work ethic, she left an indelible mark on her community. Valerie was a beacon of kindness and resilience.
Valerie was, above all, a sweet and fun-loving person whose heart was as expansive as her smile. Known for her unwavering ability to uplift others, she habitually offered sincere compliments, brightening the lives she touched. Her joy was most vividly expressed in her pride for her son, Shane McKee, whose visits she treasured deeply.
Yet, amid the joys, Valerie’s heart bore a sorrowful ache; she grieved the loss of her beloved daughter, Leanna Nicole McKee, every day since March 29, 2007. This enduring grief was a testament to the profound love Valerie held within her—a love that time could neither diminish nor forget. She was also preceded in death by her mother, Martha Sue Day Sklany; her father, Thomas Eddie Sklany; her sister, Cynthia Ray Ball; and her brother Raymond Eugene Goodman, Jr.
She leaves behind her devoted son, Shane McKee, who carries forward her spirit and love, her sister; Paula Goodman Baggett, her brothers; Christopher Walker and Brian Walker, along with her special friend, Craig Bloodworth, who stood by her with steadfast affection.
She will be buried amidst the tranquil beauty of nature in Tift Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest by her beautiful Leanna.
Valerie Anne Sklany Goodman’s story is one of grace, strength, and unyielding love.
