Vickers Henry Daughtrey

Mr. Vickers Henry Daughtrey, 66, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2019 at Regency Hospital in Macon, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 18th at 4:00 PM in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Gerald Purvis and Rev. Dan Eidson officiating. A Eulogy will be given by Rev. Steve Brown. Interment will follow in Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 PM at the funeral home before the service.

Joe Lewis, Matt Lewis, Steve Brown, Don Chandanain, Ben Martin and James Ferguson will serve as pallbearers.

Mr. Daughtrey was born October 10, 1952 in Berrien County, Georgia to the late Earl L. Daughtrey, Sr., and Margie Vickers Daughtrey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Earl Daughtrey, Jr., and his sister Cheryl Fox. Mr. Daughtrey was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Tifton and a veteran of United States Navy. He retired from Plant Telephone in 2013 after thirty-five years. He had lived in Tifton most of his life. In his earlier years he was very active in Calvary Baptist Church where he was a deacon, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Vickers was a proud veteran and loved to fish.

Mr. Daughtrey is survived by one daughter and her spouse, Abigail and Morgan Gruver of Savannah; one son, Benjamin Daughtrey of Hahira; his nephew, Justin and Nichole Daughtrey and their children, Paige and Lewyn; a number of cousins and other relatives.
