Mrs. Virginia D. Fletcher, 88, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at Legacy Village of Tifton.
A Graveside service will be held Sunday, March 7, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in Tift Memorial Gardens with Rev. Josh Bennett officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service.
Vince Hester, Kevin Cameron, K.C. Billings, Ty Cummings, Josh Hogan and Xavier Armijo will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearer will be Jordan Daniel.
Jenny was born November 12, 1932 in Tift County to the late John B. Decker and Mary Frances Fowler Decker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Hendry Fletcher to whom she was married for fifty-two years at his death, her brothers, Council J. Decker (Buddy) and John L. Decker and her sister, Mary Decker Montgomery. Mrs. Fletcher was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and was a former member at Fourth Street Baptist Church. Jenny worked at Kulbersh’s Department Store in Tifton for many years and continued there when it became Moore’s of Tifton. She was also a volunteer tax counselor for several years and a Pink Lady at the TRMC gift shop. She was a devoted Christian and attended services at Legacy Village. She loved her family, friends, her pets and most of all her Lord. Jenny enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Fletcher is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark L. and Lorraine Fletcher of Tifton and her daughter and son-in-law, Iris “Bink” and Wayne McCall of Omaha, Nebraska; her grandchildren, Michael L. and wife Amanda Fletcher and Daniel McCall, her step grandchildren, Candi and husband Ty Cummings and her great grandchild, Waylon Link Williford. Also, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family gives special thanks to all the staff at Legacy Village that fondly called her Grandma, also a special thanks to the Homestead Hospice staff for their services and kindness.
