Vivian Carlene Hoffman

Vivian Carlene Smith Hoffman, 91, resident of Greenwood, South Carolina, widow of Grady Virgil Hoffman, passed away Monday, June 8, 2026, at her home.

Born May 26, 1935, in Ocala, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Carl Richard Smith, Sr. and Vivian Link Smith. Carlene retired from the Social Security Administration after more than 30 years of dedicated service.

A talented and creative woman, Carlene enjoyed painting, beadwork, sewing, and cooking. She especially cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Tifton, Georgia.

Survivors are her daughter, Lisa Stephens (Michael) of Greenwood; her sons, Jason Keith Hoffman (Maria) of Lenox, Georgia, and Robert Donald Hoffman of Sycamore, Georgia; her brother, Carl Richard Smith, Jr. (Liz) of Ocala, Florida; her sister, Carol Challancin of Ocala, Florida; seven grandchildren, Wes Evans, Anna Hanvey, Lauren Kennemore (James), Melissa Williams (Jonas), Jon Lomax (Brooke), Jason Hoffman, Jr., and Carly Hoffman; and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Peace Lutheran Church in Tifton, Georgia, with the Rev. Greg Rowell officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Monday, June 15,2026 at the Peace Lutheran Church in TIFTON, prior to the service.

The family extends a special thank you to her devoted caregivers, Sharell, Shan, Pat, Kim, and Sara Jane, as well as Dr. Reid Castellone, for their compassionate care and support.
