Vonice Paulette Butler

April 14, 1945 — January 16, 2017

Vonice Paulette Butler, 71, of Tifton, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at her residence.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 4:00 pm at Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Irwinville with Chaplain Kathy Moneypenny officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 17, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Albritton Funeral Directors chapel.

Hunter Miller, Michael Freeman, John Freeman, Austin Reese, Blake Snook and Joe Kearce will serve as pallbearers.

Mrs. Butler was born on May 14, 1945 in Jesup, Georgia to the late Sammy and Sarah C.  Moody. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.  Mrs. Butler enjoyed crafts, floral designing, ceramics, crocheting, jigsaw puzzles, reading, and playing cards. She loved her family very much, especially her grand and great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, John Butler, Mrs. Butler is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Terry Lee and Patricia Miller of Tifton; three daughters, Christine Grubbs of Tifton , Starling and John Hathcock of Jefferson, Maryland and Lina Reese; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two sisters, Felicia Zorn of Jesup, and Donnell and Steve Grant of Valcleave, Mississippi.

Mrs. Butler was preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Jane Mixon and three brothers, Terry Talmadge Moody, Ferris Iverson and Larry Moody.

In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Hospice of Tift Area, P.O. Box 747 Tifton, Georgia 31793 or Big Creek Baptist Church c/o Jack Eldridge 208 Laurel Street Ocilla, Georgia 31774.
