Wayne Winfield Archer, 75, a cherished member of his family and community, passed away on November 4, 2025, at his residence in Bunnell, Florida. Born on February 21, 1950, in Tifton, Georgia, Wayne led a life marked by dedication to his family and a passion for his work.
A graveside service will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. at Omega City Cemetery with Mr. Guy Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.
Wayne was self-employed in construction work, where his skills and hard work left a lasting impact. An active member of his community, he served as a Sunday School teacher in several different churches over the years, sharing his faith and nurturing the spiritual growth of many.
A proud graduate of Tift County High School and Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College, Wayne earned his Associate's Degree, which laid the foundation for his successful career. Throughout his life, he was known not only for his professional accomplishments but also for the joy he found in spending time with his grandchildren. His family was a source of great pride and happiness, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Wayne had a spirited personality and enjoyed various hobbies, including playing in senior league softball in Flagler County, Florida, riding with the Flagler County Roughrider’s, and engaging in camping adventures. His love for horses and the outdoors highlighted his adventurous spirit and zest for life.
Wayne was actively involved in his community organizations. He was a member of Flagler West Baptist Church. During his time in Tifton, he was a member of the Kiwanis, Jaycees, and the Christian Layman's group. His contributions to these groups were significant, and he was deeply respected by those who worked alongside him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Lee Bush Archer; his daughter, Melissa Jane Archer Mosher; and his grandchildren, Christi Hancock, Hannah and Michael Carlino, Matthew Mosher, and Rebekah Mosher. Additionally, Wayne is survived by his great-grandchildren, Grayson Carlino and Lainey Carlino; his sisters, Phyllis and her husband, Guy Haynes, Jan Abney, and Vicky and her husband, Dennis Guthrie; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Bush and Shelby Griffin and her husband, Tommy.
Wayne was preceded in death by his father, James Winfield Archer; his mother, Wilma Gladys Griner Archer; his son, Stan Scarbor; nephews, Brian Haynes and Patrick Abney; and brothers-in-law, Bill Abney, Norman Bush, and Jack Doss; as well as sister-in-law, Jenell Doss.
