Winfred Neal Roberson

Mr. Winfred Neal Roberson, 82, of Chula, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at Rosehill Cemetery in Ashburn with Rev. Jason Loggins officiating. Mr. Robert Padgett will deliver the eulogy. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 1:30 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors before the service at the cemetery.

Sid Roberson, Terrell Roberson, Justin Roberson, Thom Roberson, Russ Griffin and Tanner Douglas will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Blalock and Fred Barnes.

Mr. Roberson was born January 7, 1941 in Tift County to the late Hurschel Bradley Roberson and Edith Whitten Roberson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Murray Carl Roberson and Earl Buddy Roberson and his nephew, Tim Roberson.

Mr. Roberson was a member of First Baptist Church of Chula. He was a graduate of Tift County High School and ABAC. After graduating ABAC, he completed a forestry apprenticeship in California fighting fires. He then went to work for the USDA working in the entomology department. After working nineteen years with the USDA, he joined the family seed cleaning business at Roberson Seed Company. He enjoyed farming beef master cows, hybridizing daylilies, gardening, old timey cooking, trying new recipes, deer hunting, dove hunting and running beagles and coon hounds. One of his greatest enjoyments was sharing his gardens with his family and friends.

Mr. Roberson is survived by his wife Faye Kendrick Roberson of Chula to whom he was married for sixty-one years; his sons and daughter-in-law, Neal and Jana Roberson of Chula and Todd Roberson of Tifton; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, David and Debra Kendrick of Chula, W. C. and Barbara Kendrick of Turner County, Jewell Golden Roberson of Chula and Marie Roberson of Moultrie and two step grandchildren, Anna Grace Douglas and Tanner Douglas.

Flowers accepted or donations may be made to Hospice of Tift Area, PO Box 747, Tifton, Ga. 31793.
