Yvetta Danforth Kimmell, born on September 2, 1939, in Berrien County, Georgia, passed away peacefully on January 15, 2026, at Southern Oaks Assisted Living Center in Tifton, Georgia. She was known for her warm spirit and unwavering dedication to her family and community.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. at Enigma City Cemetery where she will be buried by her husband Chet who died on December 22, 2006 with Rev. John Hughes officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors before the service at the graveside.
Yvetta pursued a career that encompassed her work at the Marine Corps Logistics Base, Moody Air Force Base, as well as at ABAC and various floral shops where showcased her artistic talents. Her professional endeavors mirrored her vibrant personality and her commitment to service. A proud graduate of Tifton High School and Perry Business School, Yvetta exemplified the value of education and lifelong learning.
Earlier in life she was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Tifton and the Joy Sunday School Class. She cherished her faith and the connections forged within her church community.
Yvetta is survived by her beloved son, Michael Danforth and his wife, Dana; her adoring grandchildren, Brint Danforth, Bree Danforth Connell and her husband, Michael, Hunter Danforth and his wife, Maria and Jackson Danforth; her two great grandchildren Mac Connell and Colton Danforth; her sister-in-law, Brenda Danforth.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Floyd Kimmell, affectionately known as "Chet"; her father, Emerson W. Danforth; and her mother, Addie Bertie Stewart Danforth and her brother, Roger Dale Danforth.
Yvetta's legacy is one of devotion, love, and community spirit. Her family and friends will forever hold her memory in their hearts, honoring her remarkable life and contributions.
