Zeni Marie Travis, 47 of Cottonton, AL formerly of Tifton passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

The family will receive friends at Albritton Funeral Directors May 17th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A private memorial will be held at a later date.

Zeni was born May 19, 1970 in East Point, Georgia. She was married to Billy Travis of Cottonton, AL. She graduated from Tift County High School in 1988 and joined the United States Navy. She actively served her country for ten years and continued to serve through the Navy Reserves for thirteen years.  She was an Operations Specialist Chief. She worked as a CCF (Certified Coding Specialist) at Regional Rehabilitation Hospital in Phenix City, AL. for eleven years. Zeni enjoyed reading, playing Bingo, going to the movies (especially with her nephew), traveling, rooting for Alabama Crimson Tide with her husband, and spoiling her family. She always looked for ways to brighten people’s lives. All who truly knew her loved her and were blessed to be a part of her life. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Zeni is survived by her mother, Linda Hatchell of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Toi and Ryan Freeman of Columbus; one nephew, Chance Walker of Columbus; and two stepdaughters, Jennifer Bilek and Courtney Travis, and one granddaughter, Claire Jean Bilek, one sister-in-law and brother-in-law Beverly Travis Evers and Mark Evers of St. George, UT; her aunts and uncles: David and Kay Horton of Brunswick, Marsha Horton of Winter Springs, FL., and Carol Hamby of Marana, AZ, as well as several cousins: Mark Hamby, Rob Hamby, Kelly Mitchell, Kim Beck, Kandis Petersin, Peyton Kiluk and Diana Carter. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, David and Glorina Horton and her uncle John Horton.
