Charles Ray Parker

Mr. Charles Ray Parker, 91, of Tifton passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at The Canopy at Azalea Grove in Valdosta.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Rick Evans officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 3:30 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Mr. Parker’s grandson, Sunday School Teacher, Herb Shippey and nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Herb Shippey’s Sunday School Class at Northside Baptist Church

Mr. Parker was born October 26, 1931 in Tift County to the late Cecil Alexander Parker and Cecilia Funderburk Parker. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Clara Belle Orrick Parker to whom he was married for sixty-seven years at her death, his son, Duane A. Parker, his brother, George Murray Parker and two sisters, Peggy Murray and Betty Evans.

Mr. Parker was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Tifton. He was a graduate of Tifton High School and a veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Parker enjoyed working in his yard, gardening no matter how hot, traveling, studying genealogy of his family and attending Northside Baptist Church.   He was very talented and would make whatever he needed.

Mr. Parker is survived by his daughter, Lisa Parker Rosen of Tifton; his grandchildren, Charlene Michelle Wilbur and Ronald Charles Rosen and his great grandchildren, Van Alexander, Ily Wilbur and Ethyn Wade.
