Obituary

 

Mrs. Clara Jean Cox Lassiter, 80, of Tifton passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Oakridge Cemetery with Rev. Jimmy Cargle officiating.

Mrs. Lassiter was born April 16, 1942 in Lexington, North Carolina to the late Bert Cox and Alice Luke Cox. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Wesley Lassiter, Sr., and her three sisters, Lucille Metts, Dora Pate and Lillie Prescott. Mrs. Lassiter was a member of Northside Baptist Church of Sylvester and a homemaker. She was known for her cakes in her early years. She was a people person who loved to socialize on Facebook and her I-Pad. Mrs. Lassiter loved her family, especially her grandchildren and her dog “Coco”.

Mrs. Lassiter is survived by her three children, Nancy and Steve Tate of Poulan, David and Elizabeth Lassiter, Jr. of Sylvester and Angela and Chris Collins of Jacksonville, Florida; her eight grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
