Johnnie (Woodall) Kinchen

Tifton, Georgia

Mrs. Johnnie Woodall Kinchen, a resident of Tifton, GA, passed away peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father on Monday, June 15, 2020 at Cypress Pond Assisted Living after an extended illness.  She was born November 4, 1932 in Enigma, GA and was 87 years of age.

A private viewing and funeral service will be held Thursday, June 18, 2020 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. John Jacobs officiating. The interment will follow at Tift Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Kinchen was a member of Trinity Methodist Church for several years where she was involved in the Women’s Missionary Group. She retired from Shoney’s Restaurant after serving as hostess and cashier for almost 20 years.

Mrs. Kinchen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed crossword puzzles, and was also a wonderful cook known for her peanut butter cakes. She will always be remembered for her selfless dedication in serving others.

Mrs. Kinchen is survived by two daughters, Deborah K. Jones of Tifton, GA, Jackie Wright and husband, Bryan of Valdosta, GA; four grandchildren, James Christopher Harper of Kingsport, TN, Danielle McKneely and husband, Greg, of Amite, LA, Melanie George of Valdosta, GA, Melanie Jones of Tifton, GA; great-grandchildren, Braun Harper and wife, Taylor, David Jamison Harper, Beverly Harper, Gavin McKneely, Dylan McKneely, and great- great -granddaughter, Elizabeth Harper.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, James Dillon Kinchen who passed April 8, 2020; parents, Toby and Edna Mae Young Woodall; sister, Lena Branch; and son-in-law, Douglas B. Jones.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the Cypress Pond staff and Hospice of Tift Area. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Tift Area, P.O. Box 747, Tifton, GA 31793.
