Lee Johnson Bryan

Lee Johnson Bryan, 38 of the Waterloo community in Irwin County died at his residence on Friday, July 9, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Albritton Funeral Chapel with Dr. Jeff Pangle, Rev. Rex Johnson and Rev. Tony Hayes officiating.  Burial will follow at Waterloo Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Albritton Funeral Directors.

Andrew Bryan, Lanier McCurdy, Kyle Phelps, Gary Hennessee, Jed Purvis, Jonathan Revels, Don Berrong and John Sparks will serve as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers will be special friends Fred Pylant, The Simon Garrett family, The Associates of the Christian Family Center and Gina Lee Sparks.

Lee was born on December 4, 1982, in Ben Hill County to Randy and Barbara Ann Phillips Bryan.  He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Aubrey Lee and Dorothy Baldree Phillips, paternal grandparents, Marlen Johnson and Carol Phelps Bryan along with his uncle Larry Phillips.

Lee had lived most of his life in Irwin County and he was a 2001 graduate of Tiftarea Academy where he played football for the Panthers.  Lee was proud of being a third-generation farmer helping to care for some of the same land that belonged to his Great-Granddaddy, Granddaddy and Daddy.  He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish.  As a talented musician, he enjoyed playing the piano and guitar.  He was a man of faith and he was active at Christian Fellowship Church (CFI) .He graduated with his bachelors of theology from Piedmont College of Theology.

Lee loved his family and made his five-year-old daughter, Kylee, the center of his universe. Lee’s pleasures in life always included Kylee and being her Daddy. He was known in the Waterloo Community as a humble, caring and giving individual who was always willing to help those in need. One of his most memorable traits was his impeccable comedic timing.

Along with his parents, he is survived by his daughter; Kylee Layne Bryan of Fitzgerald, wife, Cheyenne Ryder Bryan,  his sister and brother-in-law; Dawn and Josh Irvin of Ashburn, niece; Aubrey Irvin, nephew; Rigsby Irvin, Aunts and Uncles; Wanda and Ronnie McCurdy, Rob and Angie Bryan and Karen and Jim Albritton, Brenda Phillips of Fitzgerald,  numerous cousins, his in-laws, Michelle and Bill Ryder and all of the Waterloo community.
