Mr. Manuel Alfonso “Poncho” Martinez 82, of Omega, passed away on July 26, 2020 at his son’s residence.

A private Rosary service will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020 in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors.

Poncho was born April 17, 1938 in Piedras Negras Coahvila, Mexico to the late Alfonzo Martinez and Maria Del Consuelo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Andrea Martinez and two sisters. Poncho was an agricultural worker and was employed by Dodson Farms, now Docia Farms for many years. He had lived in Colquitt County for over thirty years.  He enjoyed playing cards and going to dog races. He was the life of the party and enjoyed making people happy. He was of the Catholic Faith and his biggest joy in life was his family.

Mr. Martinez is survived by twelve sons, Manuel Martinez, Jr., Sergio Martinez, Enrique Martinez, Marlos Martinez, Armando Martinez, Jose Martinez, Victor Rosales, Joe Rosales, Juan C. Martinez, Luis Martinez, Miguel Martinez and Jesus Martinez; two daughters, Aracely Rivera and Marissa Martinez; four brothers, Hector Martinez, Guadalupe Martinez, Enrique Martinez and Ricardo Martinez along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
