Mrs. Virginia Dean Walters Gudal, 92, of Tifton passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Legacy Village of Tifton.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 23, 2021 at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Albritton Funeral Directors with Rev. Chip Grantham and Rev. Larry Hauser officiating. Interment will follow in Fletcher Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 2:45 P.M. at the funeral home before the service.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Scarborough, Dr. Howard Acree, Freddie Weeks, Chip Bowen, Ron Roberts, Larry Robinson, Steve Lee, Mike Corrigan, Landon Maxwell, Don Jones, Alan McLeod, Alan Avant, Lester Potts, Frankie Hall, Terry Bowers, Winston Hill, Ed Newton, Dr. Richard McCullough, The Ladies and Men's Auxiliary of Tift Regional Medical Center and staff and residents of Legacy Village.

Mrs. Gudal was born February 22, 1929 in Tampa, Florida to the late Jessie Grant Walters and Ellen Virginia Hall Walters. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence LeRoy "Roy” Gudal, Jr., who died February 17, 2012. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Tifton and had lived in Tifton since 1982. She had graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in Tampa, Fla.  In 1954 Virginia married the love of her life Roy Gudal and they were married for

fifty- eight years at his death. She was very active in her church where she sang in the choir, was a member of Club 55 and was active in the Sunday School department. Virginia was a Pink Lady with the Tift Regional Auxiliary and delivered Meals on Wheels for many years. Her family was the center of her life and she was lovingly involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She made her home a happy one and her family remembers the refrigerator being stocked with “Yoo-hoo” drinks and hot cornbread in the cast iron skillet on the meat block.

She was a member of the Azalea Garden Club as well as the 20th Century Library Club. She loved working in her yard, cooking and antiques. She also collected quilts, bears, cups, Santa’s, chickens, clocks, and most anything old including cut glass. She was an only child and attended Mound Park School of Nursing in St. Petersburg, Fla. Virginia was a lover of animals especially her Dachshund named “Misty” who was by her side when she passed.

Mrs. Gudal is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Carla and Carey Parrish of Alapaha, Lee Gudal Davis of Jacksonville, Fla., and Valrie and Charlie Bell of Moultrie; her grandchildren, Amber Copeland, Matt (Michaelanne) Parrish, Jacob "Buddy Rowe” Parrish, Grant Bell, Ryan Davis, Aaron Davis and Harrison Bell. Great grandchildren, Lawrence Dean Parrish and Lucy Kate Parrish. She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Carter Gudal of Somerset, KY.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Choir, 107 12th Street W., Tifton, Ga., 31794 or Homestead Hospice, 110 E 10th St Suite A, Tifton, GA 31794.
