Mr. Wendell Cecil Gregory, 82, of Norman Park, passed away on July 25, 2020 at Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia.
A private graveside service and interment was held Monday, July 27, 2020 at Oakridge Cemetery.
Mr. Gregory was born July 25, 1938 in Mitchell County, Georgia to the late Osco Garrett Gregory and Florida Mae Pitts Gregory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Jean Coker Gregory, his five brothers, Robert Gregory, Tom Gregory, Ray Gregory, David Gregory and Carroll Gregory, his three sisters, Molly Randerson, Sally Howell and Mattie St. John. Mr. Gregory was a veteran of the Unites States Army and was a retired truck driver. He was employed with Transus, Inc. until his retirement in 2006. Mr. Wendell was a fan of the old western and cowboy movies. He enjoyed word puzzles and attending family reunions. Mr. Gregory was proud of his military service.
Mr. Gregory is survived by his son, Wendell Daylon Gregory of Blairsville, Georgia; two brothers, Edward Gregory of Bonaire, Georgia and Harold and Rita Gregory of Covington, Georgia; his sister, Glenda Wilbanks, of Aiken, South Carolina; his special niece, Jean Weaver; three sisters-in-law, Mildred Gregory of Tifton, Joy Gregory of Chula and Sybil Gregory of Columbus and many nieces and nephews.
